Financial AI Systems Analyst

About the Role

Mortenson is hiring a Financial Systems Analyst with an AI focus to design, develop, deploy, and govern AI agents across the company's financial systems. The role works closely with Finance, ITS, and other business stakeholders to automate, optimize, and enhance financial and project workflows while providing internal consulting on AI adoption and best practices. The analyst will act as a consultant to identify AI integration opportunities, deliver training and support for AI‑powered tools, and ensure seamless integration of agents into existing financial platforms. They will monitor agent performance, troubleshoot issues, maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance, stay current with AI advancements, and help establish governance frameworks that promote responsible and ethical AI use. • Act as an internal consultant to Finance and ITS teams, identifying AI integration opportunities and recommending efficiency‑driving solutions. • Provide training and support to end‑users on AI‑powered tools, gathering feedback for continuous improvement. • Design, build, and deploy AI agents to automate financial processes. • Train and fine‑tune AI agents using curated financial datasets to ensure accuracy and business alignment. • Collaborate with ITS, Finance, and Operations for seamless AI agent integration into financial systems. • Participate in design meetings and conduct testing for AI‑driven features. • Monitor agent performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements or retraining as needed. • Maintain clear documentation of agent logic, data pipelines, and model behavior for compliance and audit purposes. • Stay current with AI developments relevant to financial systems. • Develop and implement AI governance frameworks, policies, and best practices. • Foster a culture of responsible AI adoption and continuous improvement. • Ensure AI solutions comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards such as data privacy, fairness, and explainability.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field and have at least three years of financial systems analysis experience, preferably with AI solution implementation. Required skills include effective communication of complex AI concepts, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, proficiency with machine learning tools such as Python, SQL, and LLM frameworks, and familiarity with financial transaction systems and AI governance principles. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, as Mortenson does not provide sponsorship. Job postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days and an average of 44 days. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field. • Minimum three years of experience in financial systems analysis, with preferred experience in AI agent development or implementation. • Oracle ERP and AI‑powered financial tools experience is a plus. • Effective communication and active listening skills to explain complex AI concepts to non‑technical audiences. • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities with strong attention to detail. • Experience with machine learning concepts and tools (Python, SQL, LLM frameworks). • Familiarity with agents in Copilot, Oracle, Procore, and custom LLM‑based agents. • Understanding of financial systems such as transactions, ledgers, and projects. • Knowledge of AI governance principles, including data privacy, model transparency, and regulatory compliance. • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders to facilitate new technology adoption.

The position offers a base salary ranging from $72,900 to $109,400 (higher in select locations) and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
