About the Role

The Tower Technician III installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. Duties include climbing towers and ladders, erecting various tower types, off‑loading material, preparing and cleaning sites, and installing new carriers on both new‑build and existing towers. The role also involves assisting with tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles, assembling monopole, self‑support, and guyed towers, and installing microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. Additional responsibilities include installing transmission lines, foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, waveguides, handling electrical foundations, grounding, and conduit work, mentoring newer technicians, and completing other assigned tasks while adhering to MasTec safety policies and industry standards. • Install and service wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Perform tower climbs and ladder work; erect various tower structures. • Off‑load materials, prepare/clean sites, and install carriers on new and existing towers. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles; assemble monopole, self‑support, and guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas; handle transmission lines, coaxial, hardline, and waveguides. • Conduct electrical foundation, grounding, and conduit installations where required. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians and fulfill additional assigned duties. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).

What You Bring

The ideal candidate prioritizes safety, demonstrates a strong record of quality work, and enjoys hands‑on problem solving on long‑term projects. Requirements include a high school diploma, at least four years of tower experience, ability to lift 50 lb, climb towers, work up to 12 hours, and a valid driver’s license.
