About the Role
This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of high‑impact water and wastewater treatment projects worldwide. The successful candidate will combine managerial leadership with deep technical expertise, guiding design‑and‑build initiatives from concept through to construction while ensuring projects meet quality, budget and schedule targets. Key responsibilities include leading technical delivery and project coordination across multiple disciplines, producing and reviewing engineering calculations, and generating civil engineering deliverables such as site layouts, process unit drawings and underground piping designs. The role also requires supporting civil discipline leads on health and safety compliance, maintaining document quality, managing design risks, and communicating effectively with clients, contractors and internal teams. • Lead technical delivery and project coordination for complex water and wastewater treatment projects. • Produce and review engineering calculations (hydraulic, structural, carbon, etc.). • Design civil engineering outputs: site-wide layouts, road access, general arrangement drawings for process units. • Develop underground piping, earthworks and drainage designs within site boundaries. • Support civil discipline leads to ensure health and safety compliance with CDM regulations. • Maintain quality, consistency and adherence to Minimum Asset Standard in all technical documents. • Communicate across disciplines, manage gaps/overlaps and provide technical guidance to senior managers. • Identify, record and mitigate design risks and assumptions throughout the project lifecycle. • Promote good H&S practice and minimise operator risks by designing out confined spaces and working‑at‑height hazards. • Manage environmental considerations within the design process and ensure compliance. • Conduct post‑project reviews to capture lessons learned and share best practices.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (a master’s is preferred), have 12‑15+ years of progressive engineering design experience, and are chartered (ICE/CIWEM) or working towards chartership. Experience on UK municipal, Southeast Asian, US or Middle‑East water‑treatment projects, strong client‑liaison and mentoring abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication in English are essential. Proficiency with industry software is expected, including Civil 3D, Revit Plant 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD and BIM platforms such as Bentley ProjectWise and BIM 360. The position is based in Mumbai, Bengaluru or Noida, with flexible working arrangements available to support work‑life balance. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred. • 12‑15+ years of engineering design experience with increasing responsibility on multidisciplinary projects. • Chartered Engineer status (ICE/CIWEM) or progressing towards chartership. • Experience on UK municipal, Southeast Asian, US or Middle‑East water/wastewater treatment projects. • Proven client liaison, mentoring and communication skills in English. • Strong knowledge of international codes, standards and regulations. • Experience preparing fee proposals, bid submissions and using BIM tools. • Proficient with Civil 3D, Revit Plant 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bentley ProjectWise and BIM 360.
