About the Role

In this role, the leader will expand and manage HDR’s Power services portfolio, partner with business‑development teams to anticipate market trends, and pursue a wide range of services—including consulting, advisory, owners‑engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning—for clients such as utilities, cooperatives, developers, and industrial firms. Key responsibilities include delivering project and client management support, serving as Principal‑in‑Charge on select projects, aligning resources with workload and marketing efforts, driving regional client growth, recruiting and retaining staff, coordinating work‑sharing initiatives, and motivating the team to meet growth targets. • Lead growth and operations of HDR’s Power program in Missouri/Kansas. • Expand and diversify client relationships across utilities, cooperatives, developers, and industrial sectors. • Identify and deliver services such as consulting, advisory, owners‑engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning. • Assist clients with energy system planning from micro‑grid to large‑scale utility portfolios. • Establish external teaming partnerships and represent HDR in industry associations. • Provide project and client management; serve as Principal‑in‑Charge on key projects. • Coordinate resources with Business Group, Practice, and Development Leaders to align workload and marketing. • Drive regional client growth and recruit/retain talent to meet business‑development objectives. • Facilitate work‑sharing with local operations and section managers. • Lead and motivate staff to achieve growth and performance goals.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications are a PE license and PMP certification; required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, at least ten years of industry experience, demonstrated ability to develop strategic marketing programs, manage diverse client relationships, develop staff, maintain a visible industry profile, collaborate with senior leaders, and uphold HDR’s core values and employee‑owned culture. • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license and PMP certification. • Required: Bachelor’s in engineering/planning, 10+ years industry experience, strategic marketing program development, extensive client relationship management, staff development expertise, active industry association involvement, collaborative leadership ability, and commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
