About the Role
The Associate Commercial Director will lead commercial activities across construction projects, driving profitability, managing client relationships and ensuring successful project delivery. This senior leadership role provides strategic oversight of cost management, contract negotiation, risk management and commercial performance across multiple projects and sectors. The role involves developing and implementing commercial strategies that support company growth, driving revenue through new business development, and building strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders. You will oversee the commercial side of projects from tender to completion, lead the commercial team, and establish performance metrics and KPIs. • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with growth objectives • Drive revenue growth through new business development and client relationship management • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, consultants, and stakeholders • Oversee commercial aspects of projects from tender to completion • Lead and develop the commercial team, including estimators, quantity surveyors, and commercial managers • Establish performance metrics and KPIs for commercial activities

What You Bring
Desired expertise includes deep knowledge of construction contracts such as JCT, NEC and FIDIC, proficiency with commercial software, strong financial acumen and an understanding of construction economics, as well as familiarity with industry regulations and compliance. Strategic thinking and commercial acumen are essential. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field, with a professional qualification (RICS, CIOB or equivalent) preferred, and at least 15 years of commercial experience in the construction industry, including senior leadership roles across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. • Expert knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC) • Proficiency with commercial software and systems • Strong financial acumen and understanding of construction economics • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field • Preferred professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) • Minimum 15 years of commercial experience in construction, including senior leadership roles • Experience across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors • Strong background in contract management
