About the Role

As an Electronic Technician at Atlas Tube, Chicago, IL, you will be responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of production equipment to maximize quality, uptime, rate, and yield. Under direct supervision you will program and troubleshoot programmable logic controls (PLCs) and computer‑based control systems that govern equipment operation. This role is ideal for individuals with strong electrical and PLC expertise who thrive in a fast‑paced industrial environment and prioritize safety and reliability. • Lead and enforce OSHA‑compliant safe work practices, including lockout/tagout and arc flash procedures. • Perform electrical maintenance on industrial control systems, power systems, AC/DC drives, and crane systems. • Troubleshoot PLC‑controlled equipment, motors, drives, relays, and related components. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to diagnose issues. • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment. • Prepare reports and document work per company standards. • Work rotating shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed. • Maintain regular full‑time onsite attendance and perform additional assigned duties.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); trade or technical school diploma in PLC design/programming (preferred). • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience. • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and its application. • Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. • Positive attitude and effective interpersonal skills. • Comfortable using computer‑based diagnostic tools and working at elevated heights.
