About the Role
• Lead design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, and utility-scale substation projects. • Develop design documents and reports, including layouts, schematics, one-line diagrams, calculations, and equipment selection. • Collaborate daily with multi-disciplinary teams across Kimley-Horn offices. • Prepare project specifications, construction cost estimates, and proposals to support service growth. • Mentor and train junior staff to expand the Power Delivery practice.

What You Bring
Kimley-Horn’s Denver office is hiring an Electrical Engineer with at least four years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. This full-time, on-site role focuses on designing and analyzing electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, and utility-scale substations. The position offers the chance to work on multi-disciplinary projects across Kimley-Horn offices and to mentor junior staff. • Require 4+ years of electrical engineering experience and a PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months). • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards. • Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings. • Preferred experience with utility-scale substations, PV, wind, energy storage, EV charging, microgrids, or data centers. • Experience in project management, AutoCAD, power system analysis (SKM, ETAP), transient studies (PSCAD, EMTP-RV), lighting design (AGI32), and programming in Python or MATLAB.
