About the Role
The Project Manager for Major Projects, within our Building Technologies & Solutions business, leads large HVAC controls construction projects typically valued at $3M or more. Reporting under general direction, you will ensure projects are executed accurately, on time, billed correctly, and remain within budget and contract scope while maintaining positive cash flow and pursuing change orders. Key duties include acting as the on‑site leader, developing project schedules, evaluating contractual scope, preparing cost estimates and proposals, managing billing and collections, and communicating progress and financial status to management. You will also oversee subcontractor performance, material procurement, risk management, compliance with safety and legal standards, and facilitate coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders. • Lead $3M+ HVAC controls construction projects from inception to closeout. • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cash flow while ensuring on‑time delivery. • Conduct cost estimating, prepare proposals, and pursue change orders to maintain profitability. • Coordinate with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to align scope and resources. • Manage risk, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with safety, legal, and code requirements. • Oversee material procurement, subcontractor performance, and documentation control. • Communicate project progress, financial status, and issues to senior management.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are at least six years of direct project management experience in building construction, with experience in mechanical retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, fire and security systems. PMI/PMP certification is expected within two years, and a Bachelor’s (or equivalent Associate’s) degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Project and Office tools, and willingness to travel up to 40% are essential. • Minimum 6 years of direct project management experience in building construction. • Obtain PMI/PMP certification within two years of employment; PMP preferred. • Bachelor’s (or equivalent Associate’s) degree in construction, engineering, or related field. • Proficient in MS Project, Office suite, and financial accounting systems; strong written and verbal communication. • Willingness to travel up to 40% and manage multi‑disciplinary, multi‑subcontractor projects.
