About the Role
• Design and coordinate plumbing and fire protection systems across all MEP disciplines. • Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and oversee commissioning activities. • Attend coordination meetings and site visits to ensure integrated designs. • Perform calculations, produce drawings, and develop specifications in compliance with client requirements and firm standards. • Apply ICC, NFPA, NYC, and other applicable codes; interpret code requirements and conduct peer reviews with QA/QC oversight. • Support business development by nurturing client relationships, cross‑selling services, and participating in industry events. • Utilize AutoCAD‑MEP and Revit to create detailed design documentation.

What You Bring
This role provides exposure to a variety of facility types, including commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, critical, and storage facilities, and requires deep knowledge of fire protection system design, fire alarm, standpipe/sprinkler, VESDA, clean‑agent systems, fire safety plans, smoke and egress modeling, and FLS commissioning. Engineers are expected to have a solid engineering background, extensive fire protection expertise, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards. Professional certifications and licensure are advantageous, and the ability to obtain security clearances when required is essential. • Hold a bachelor's degree in fire protection, electrical, or mechanical engineering and at least 8 years of fire protection/alarm design experience. • Demonstrate knowledge of fire alarm, standpipe/sprinkler, VESDA, clean‑agent systems, fire safety plans, and smoke/egress modeling. • Possess or obtain NICET certification in fire alarm or fire protection within two years; multistate licensure preferred. • Obtain required federal security clearance and be willing to travel to project sites as needed.
