About the Role
The Carpenter Helper assists skilled carpenters and carpenters’ foremen by performing supportive duties under direct supervision. The role involves using general carpentry knowledge and hand or power tools to help design, construct, erect, install, and repair wood, plywood, and wallboard structures, while seeking improvement opportunities and adhering to safety standards. • Assist carpenter in laying out work. • Help lift, position, secure, and cut materials during installation. • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment. • Keep work area stocked with necessary materials. • Provide assistance to other craft workers as needed. • Perform repetitive hand/arm and leg movements; maintain hand‑eye coordination. • Operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) with proper training. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. • Frequently grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects. • Perform prolonged bending, twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pulling/pushing, and standing. • Work on uneven, muddy, loose rock, or soft sand surfaces; may work in confined spaces and adverse weather. • Concentrate amid distractions and work at various tempos. • Apply decision‑making skills and attention to detail.

What You Bring
Work is performed in plant operations or construction jobsite settings, requiring the ability to work in varied conditions such as uneven terrain, adverse weather, and confined spaces, and to maintain effective communication with supervisors and team members. • Push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb). • Communicate effectively with management and supervision.
