About the Role
• Lead preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and construction documents, ensuring accuracy and schedule. • Delegate tasks to junior engineers and mentor team members. • Collaborate with clients and AECOM counterparts on analysis of dams, reservoirs, levees, canals, tunnels, pipelines, and flood protection systems. • Oversee and review work of others, enforce quality control measures. • Ensure design compliance with standards and regulations, providing professional engineer seal. • Perform peer reviews and conduct site visits to assess field and as‑built conditions. • Serve as Resident Engineer on construction projects (optional, may require travel). • Assist with proposals and presentations as needed.

The Sacramento, CA office seeks a mid‑level Civil Engineer specializing in water resources and transportation projects. The role involves designing and delivering flood risk management systems, dams, floodwalls, stormwater facilities, and ecosystem restoration, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the nation and globe. The position is hybrid, based in Sacramento, with a salary range of $86,000‑$120,000, and requires a BS in civil engineering, 4+ years of design experience, and a California PE license (or ability to obtain within six months). A valid driver’s license is also required. • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. • 4+ years design experience in water resources or transportation projects (or equivalent). • California PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months. • Valid driver’s license. • Preferred: 10+ years relevant experience. • Preferred: Experience with agencies such as DWR, USACE, USIBWC, FEMA, NRCS, Reclamation, Caltrans. • Preferred: Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or ArcGIS. • Preferred: Master’s degree in civil engineering. • Preferred: Experience with HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, HY‑8 modeling software. • Preferred: Strong communication skills.
