About the Role
In this position the pipefitter reads and interprets blueprints, ISO field installations, material takeoffs and field sketches, then fabricates and installs a range of pipe and tubing—including screw pipe, socket weld, stainless and carbon steel weld pipe. Tasks include mitering and beveling pipe, laying out penetrations, installing piping in racks, valves, hangers, supports, underground pipe, and steam/heat tracing, as well as bolting various flange sizes. The pipefitter also assists other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints, ISO installations, material takeoffs, and field sketches. • Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld, stainless tubing, carbon steel and stainless steel weld pipe. • Miter, bevel, and prepare pipe/tube for welding using a beveling machine. • Layout pipe penetrations and install piping in pipe racks. • Install valves, pipe hangers, supports, underground pipe, and steam/heat tracing. • Perform proper bolt‑up of various pipe and valve flange sizes. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb) and handle repetitive hand/arm work. • Operate electric, gas, and pneumatic hand/power tools. • Climb and balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds. • Work on uneven, muddy, rocky, or soft surfaces and in confined spaces. • Operate in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). • Read, write, and comprehend instructions and safety policies. • Perform math calculations and detailed measurements. • Make decisions and maintain focus amid distractions.

What You Bring
The Pipefitter must be knowledgeable in test piping systems, oxygen and acetylene cutting, basic rigging, operation of pneumatic and electric tools, and leak test‑tubing systems. They must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and safely operate the required tools and equipment. The role may be performed in plant operations or on construction job sites. The role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), use hand and power tools, climb ladders and scaffolds, and work in uneven, muddy, or confined spaces under adverse weather conditions. Mentally, the employee must communicate effectively with supervisors, read and write instructions, perform calculations, make decisions, and maintain detail‑oriented focus despite distractions. • Communicate effectively with management and supervision.
