About the Role

The Gas Foreman leads a crew in installing and repairing natural gas pipelines and joint‑trench utilities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. The role involves coordinating crew activities, obtaining necessary permits, conducting safety talks and inspections, handling documentation, training new hires, and communicating with customers and inspectors. The foreman also operates or oversees equipment, manages site access, and performs job restoration after work is completed. • Oversee crew installation of natural gas pipelines using open‑cut or directional drilling methods. • Obtain all required licenses, permits, and materials for each job. • Ensure work quality, compliance with standards, and project timeliness. • Delegate daily digging and product‑placement tasks to crew members. • Coordinate site entry and call‑in utilities at each project location. • Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections. • Complete all required paperwork promptly. • Train new hires and trainees on trade skills and safety procedures. • Track employee hours and submit payroll accurately. • Inspect existing utilities to verify proper identification, exposure, and installation. • Operate or direct equipment transport to and from job sites. • Maintain job schedule, clean up sites, and perform restoration after work. • Communicate effectively with customers, inspectors, and senior management.

What You Bring

This position is physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, squatting, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and work in extreme weather conditions. Employees must have clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to identify colors to safely perform tasks such as fusing, tapping, and pressure testing. • High School diploma or equivalent; 3 years gas pipeline experience with 2 years supervisory experience. • Proficiency in fusing, tapping, pressure testing, and purging; CDL Class A (or obtain within 30 days). • OSHA 10 certification and knowledge of gas safety standards. • Ability to read and interpret specifications and construction prints. • Experience operating heavy equipment and performing general construction tasks. • Strong visual inspection skills, hand‑eye coordination, and color‑identification ability. • Capability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. • Preferred: prior experience with Atmos Gas.
