About the Role

The architect will lead project development and documentation while helping to expand GMC’s presence and culture in the Charlotte market. The role balances design leadership with market‑building responsibilities. • Apply architectural principles across diverse project types. • Work within multi‑disciplinary teams across regional offices. • Lead technical development and documentation for moderate‑complexity projects or portions of larger ones. • Participate in full project lifecycle: planning, design, documentation, construction. • Design and detail projects, systems, or components with technical rigor. • Prepare and coordinate construction documents, consultant coordination, and project manuals/specifications. • Manage time and workload independently to meet schedules. • Uphold professional, ethical, and quality standards. • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and assess existing conditions. • Produce construction documents using Revit. • Communicate with clients, contractors, and consultants. • Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and support construction administration. • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen client relationships and expand local market presence. • Build and shape the growing Charlotte office rather than joining an established team. • Collaborate directly with Carolinas leadership and access GMC’s full multi‑discipline platform.

What You Bring

• Bring 3+ years of professional architectural experience. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture from an accredited program. • Possess architectural licensure (preferred) or be actively pursuing it. • Be proficient in Revit and strong in detailing, consultant coordination, and construction documentation. • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel for project needs. • Reside locally in the Charlotte area.
