About the Role

• Continuously monitor Facility Control Systems using Siemens BAS to ensure proper operation. • Maintain system performance, manage alarms, and create work orders in the CMMS. • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, and point‑to‑point checkouts of HVAC control systems, primarily Siemens DDC and some Metasys. • Test and modify system software as needed. • Carry out minor HVAC equipment maintenance such as filter changes and greasing. • Commissioning, troubleshooting, or installing DDC systems.

What You Bring

We are seeking an HVAC Control Systems Technician (BAS Technician) to join our federal team supporting the National Defense University location in Washington D.C. At Johnson Controls, we support our nation’s most critical facilities, the people who occupy them, and the missions they enable. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government, helping to modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense, and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure. • Experience with Siemens Apogee, Desigo, Tridium Niagara, Metasys, or comparable BAS. • Knowledge of HVAC principles and safety procedures. • Proficiency with computers and CMMS. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances. • Preferred: expertise with Siemens BAS and experience creating work orders in CMMS. • Preferred: HVAC mechanical maintenance/service background. • Preferred: programming/troubleshooting of various HVAC control brands (Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, etc.). • Preferred: familiarity with BAS communication protocols such as BACnet MSTP/IP, N2, P1, Modbus, or LON. • Preferred: HVAC technical school training or certifications, including Siemens Apogee or Desigo.

Benefits

The position offers a pay range of $36.00 • $45.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience, with a Monday‑Friday shift from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of employment and receive three weeks of paid vacation, five sick days, three floating holidays, and ten standard holidays each year, totaling 6.5 weeks of paid time off.
