About the Role
The Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous waste removal services. The role includes ensuring the vehicle meets company safety standards before and after each shift, complying with all state and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports to address defects promptly. Drivers perform thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, monitor tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, and report any issues. While on route they read the route sheet, follow maps, load and compact waste, transport it to designated disposal sites, and manage any waste spills according to safety policies. They also interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues to ensure timely service. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report safety issues. • Operate collection truck safely along assigned route, following route sheets and maps. • Load, compact, and unload refuse using manual or automatic controls. • Interact courteously with customers and dispatchers to provide professional service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers according to procedures. • Monitor waste for prohibited items and clean accidental spills per safety standards. • Clean packer blade and truck body during disposal trips. • Complete route productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and other required documentation. • Meet departmental productivity standards and adhere to all safety policies. • Participate actively in the Company’s ReSOP safety program. • Maintain strong customer service, time management, and follow‑through on tasks.
