Transmission Line Project Engineer *
Design and lead high‑voltage transmission line projects, mentoring junior engineers.
Job Highlights
About the Role
The Transmission Line Project Engineer will take on increasingly complex high‑voltage transmission design work, operate independently, and at times direct, mentor, and supervise less‑experienced engineers and designers. • Prepare conceptual and detailed transmission line designs using PLS‑CADD and foundation software (L‑Pile, MFAD, Caisson). • Create construction release packages including plans, profiles, load trees, assemblies, stringing charts, foundation schedules, and bills of material. • Assign tasks, mentor, and supervise junior engineers and designers. • Develop learning opportunities for junior staff through job shadowing, “show and tell,” and lunch‑n‑learn sessions. • Conduct quality‑control reviews of team deliverables and cross‑team projects. • Provide engineering input on design issues and perform analyses to generate design options. • Assist in preparing cost estimates and specifications. • Lead client stakeholder meetings and design reviews. • Contribute to project man‑hour estimates and task scheduling. • Manage multiple project tasks while monitoring schedule and budget constraints. • Perform site visits during design, construction, and as‑built phases, including field reviews.
