About the Role
Within the Enterprise Data and Analytics organization, the Enterprise Data Governance and Quality team drives a company‑wide model for data governance, elevating data as a critical asset that fuels operational velocity and efficiency. The Director of Enterprise Data Governance will lead the strategy, own the governance product portfolio, and manage the program roadmap across global teams, ensuring data is trusted, standardized, and aligned with business objectives. The role partners with Privacy, Compliance, Information Security, Legal, and AI teams to embed governance into master, reference, and semantic data models as well as analytical solutions. By defining policies, standards, and metrics, the Director turns data into a strategic enabler that supports faster, more accurate decision‑making while maintaining regulatory compliance and responsible data reuse. People leadership is a core component, with the Director motivating, developing, and coaching a distributed team of data professionals and managing relationships with vendors and third‑party providers. The position also champions a culture of continuous improvement, driving process innovation, and modeling Equinix’s transformational leadership values. • Establish and maintain enterprise data governance framework, policies, standards, and metrics. • Lead core data management practice to ensure high‑quality, purpose‑driven data across the organization. • Develop and execute a multi‑year roadmap with data domain owners, closing governance gaps. • Design, implement, and administer data governance tools for literacy, quality monitoring, lineage visualization, and alerts. • Collaborate with Application, InfoSec, and Legal teams to enforce data privacy, security, classification, and retention controls. • Create and manage a secure‑deletion roadmap aligning legal, data domains, and application owners. • Facilitate data governance forums, risk panels, and domain working groups; report to the Executive Data Council. • Measure program effectiveness, establish maturity metrics, and drive continuous improvement. • Promote commercialization of enterprise data assets and development of external data ecosystems. • Develop and deliver enterprise‑wide education and awareness programs on data governance best practices. • Manage global data governance team performance through coaching, development, and vendor KPI oversight. • Implement people development strategy to enhance capabilities and align performance with business objectives.

What You Bring
• Minimum 10 years experience in data management, governance, analytics, or related fields. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline. • Proficiency with data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Azure, Reltio) and tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Collibra, Dataplex) preferred.

Benefits
The targeted pay range for this full‑time role varies by location, with U.S. salaries between $155,000 and $233,000 and Canadian compensation between $154,000 and $232,000 CAD, plus eligibility for bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement contributions, paid time off, and employee assistance programs.
