About the Role

The Government Security Account Manager will focus on growing Johnson Controls’ security business within United States Federal, civilian, and defense contractor markets. This role aims to increase market share for installation and service of the security line of business by developing new and expanding existing government accounts. Key duties include identifying and securing government contracts, leveraging state, COOP, and GSA agreements, and training local sellers on government strategies. The manager will maintain a robust pipeline, lead bid management with cross‑functional teams, negotiate contract terms, and develop strategic plans with key customers to meet sales growth and profit targets. Attendance at industry conferences and adherence to procurement regulations support relationship building and compliance. • Develop and expand government security accounts across Federal, civilian, and defense contractor verticals • Identify, pursue, and secure government contracts leveraging state, COOP, and GSA agreements • Train local sellers on government strategy and maintain small‑business relationships • Maintain pipeline, forecast sales, and lead bid management with cross‑functional teams • Negotiate contract terms and conditions in collaboration with legal, customers, and internal teams • Create and implement strategic plans with key customers to achieve sales growth and profit targets • Attend industry conferences to build relationships and ensure compliance with procurement regulations

What You Bring

Successful candidates will hold a college degree in sales, marketing, or a related field and possess at least six years of commercial sales experience, preferably in the security industry. Required skills include proven business‑development success in complex systems sales, strong leadership and teamwork abilities, and excellent oral and written communication.
