About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager works closely with the Project Manager to advance projects from initial bidding through final acceptance, providing guidance and supervision to the project team. Responsibilities include overseeing overall project execution, coordinating with various stakeholders, and maintaining high standards of safety and schedule adherence. • Perform cost control and financial management for projects. • Collaborate with Preconstruction on estimates and schedules. • Coordinate scopes of work and review pay applications, change requests, and other financial documentation. • Draft client proposals and manage contract administration. • Award subcontracts and oversee subcontractor and supplier relationships. • Provide direction to the project team for safe, timely completion and act as liaison for project engineers. • Mentor, coach, and assign jobs to team members, guiding career development. • Lead project buyout and facilitate meetings with subcontractors for coordination. • Execute on‑site Project Manager duties for small‑scope projects and implement quality plans.

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or comparable experience, and have at least five years of experience managing construction projects. They must exhibit strong organizational abilities, a customer‑focused attitude, and proficiency with common office and project software tools. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. • Minimum five years of experience overseeing complex construction projects. • Strong detail orientation to organize and manage multiple tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and standard business practices. • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant web applications. • Positive, professional attitude with excellent customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license.

The compensation range is $102,000 to $137,700, with higher ranges for certain locations, and includes eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
