About the Role

The Painter is responsible for sanding, cleaning, masking, and painting transformer units and fabricated components to produce a durable, eye‑pleasing finished product. All units must be painted before final inspection. The role includes preparing all surfaces for spraying, including bare metal and previously painted areas, verifying color and mil thickness against the Bill of Materials, and adjusting pump pressures, heater temperatures, and air/fluid pressures to maintain optimal spray conditions. The painter must change filters, keep the spray booth and floor clean, operate the crane to move units into and out of the booth, and may cross‑train in other team functions. • Prepare and finish surfaces by sanding, feather‑edging, masking, and cleaning prior to spray application. • Verify color and mil thickness per Bills of Material before painting. • Adjust and monitor pump pressures, heater temperatures, and air/fluid pressures for optimal spray quality. • Replace filters and maintain cleanliness of the spray booth and surrounding floor areas. • Operate crane to position units in the spray booth and store repainted units for inspection. • Cross‑train and assist in other team work areas as needed. • Ensure all units are painted to a durable, eye‑pleasing standard before final inspection.
