About the Role

Join our dynamic Buildings team in Vancouver as an Electrical Engineer‑in‑Training or Electrical Designer. You will contribute to high‑performance electrical designs that create safer, more resilient, and sustainable spaces across Western Canada, from commercial towers to institutional facilities. This role offers a chance to advance your technical expertise while collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. In this position you will design electrical building systems that enhance safety, performance, and sustainability for commercial, institutional, and mixed‑use projects. You will develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life‑safety solutions from concept through construction, applying energy‑efficient principles to reduce environmental impact. Working closely with mechanical, structural, sustainability, and architectural teams, you will produce accurate engineering drawings, reports, and specifications and support on‑site reviews and construction inspections to ensure the design intent is realized. • Design electrical systems that improve safety, performance, and sustainability. • Create power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life‑safety solutions from concept to construction. • Apply energy‑efficient design principles to meet client sustainability goals. • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, sustainability, and architectural teams. • Produce accurate engineering drawings, reports, and specifications. • Conduct on‑site reviews and inspections to verify design intent. • Support site reviews and coordinate with contractors.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience or co‑op exposure to electrical building systems, including lighting, power, and life‑safety design, and is familiar with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software. You should be comfortable supporting site reviews, coordinating with contractors, and understanding field integration. Eligibility for EIT registration in British Columbia or equivalent design experience is required, along with a passion for creating safer, energy‑efficient buildings. • Possess hands‑on experience with lighting, power, and life‑safety design. • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software. • Eligible for EIT registration in British Columbia or have comparable design experience.
