About the Role
Key duties include reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup and production sequence. The operator selects, positions, and secures tooling, fixtures, stops, guides, and turntables, then adjusts controls for pressure, ram stroke, blade angle, and speed. They start the machine, monitor its operation, reposition workpieces or change dies as needed, and perform multiple or successive passes. After each cycle, the operator inspects and measures the work, labels parts, moves them to proper storage, and documents any deviations from specifications, taking corrective action when required. The role requires wearing all required personal protective equipment, reporting work‑related injuries or near‑misses, and correcting or reporting unsafe conditions. The operator may also train new or existing employees on machine operation and safety procedures. What You Bring
Qualifications include a one‑year technical certificate or three to six months of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Candidates must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, blueprints, and safety rules, perform basic math calculations, use a scale and vernier calipers, and apply common‑sense reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of CNC software are required, and a forklift license (obtainable within three months) is needed for some departments. • Wear required PPE, report injuries, near‑misses, and unsafe conditions. • Hold a one‑year technical certificate or 3‑6 months related experience (or equivalent). • Possess basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC software. • Obtain a forklift license within three months if required for the department.
