About the Role
The role involves preparing base‑design documents such as protection block diagrams, interlock diagrams, system overviews, bill of materials, pre‑cable lists and heat‑dissipation calculations. You will create protection schematics for feeders, transformers, busbars, bus sections, bus couplers, capacitor banks and reactors, as well as design intent documents that align scope, technical guidelines and customer specifications. Additionally, you will configure IEDs for various protection functions, develop test procedures for FAT and SAT, and produce interface drawings referencing HV equipment, marshalling boxes, CTs, VTs and distribution boards. The candidate must take ownership of assigned project scopes and ensure compliance with all external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines. Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, you will act responsibly for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business. • Prepare base‑design documents including protection block diagrams, interlock diagrams, system overviews, BOM, pre‑cable lists and heat‑dissipation calculations. • Develop protection schematics for feeders, transformers, busbars, bus sections, bus couplers, capacitor banks and reactors. • Write design intent documents that translate scope, technical guidelines and customer specifications into schematics. • Configure IEDs for protection functions such as distance, differential, overcurrent, auto‑reclose and synchro‑check. • Create test procedures for IED and cubicle testing during FAT and SAT activities. • Produce interface drawings referencing HV equipment, marshalling boxes, CTs, VTs and distribution boards. • Take ownership of project scope and ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and procedures. • Apply Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity in all tasks.

What You Bring
We require 5‑7 years of electrical engineering experience, with hands‑on expertise in Hitachi (REL670, RED670, RET670, RES670), GE, MICOM, SEL IEDs. A solid understanding of AIS/GIS substation devices—breakers, isolators, earth switches, transformers, capacitors, reactors, statcoms—is essential. Proficiency with configuration tools such as PCM, Digsi, Agile or equivalents, and CAD design software like E‑Plan, El‑Master or E3, is also needed. The role is suited to an independent contributor who can apply standards, think creatively and communicate fluently in English. • Possess 5‑7 years of electrical engineering experience with Hitachi, GE, MICOM, SEL IEDs. • Demonstrate knowledge of AIS/GIS substation devices including breakers, isolators, earth switches, transformers, capacitors, reactors and statcoms. • Proficient in configuration tools (PCM, Digsi, Agile or equivalents) and CAD design software (E‑Plan, El‑Master, E3). • Work independently, apply established standards, think creatively and communicate fluently in English.
