About the Role

The Recruiting Assistant/Processor supports the recruiting department by handling candidate interactions, overseeing onboarding processes, and performing various administrative tasks. This position ensures a smooth experience for new hires while maintaining compliance with Cajun’s policies and procedures. In this role, the assistant manages applicant tracking, coordinates orientations, and acts as a liaison among candidates, recruiting staff, payroll, and HR. They also assist with internal audits, compliance tracking, and provide general support to the recruiting team as needed. • Greet and welcome guests and applicants • Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls • Guide applicants to apply online and assist at kiosks • Provide accurate information in person, by phone, and email • Manage applicant tracking and onboarding processes • Review and approve new hire and rehire submissions • Maintain employee hiring and termination records • Ensure timely completion and compliance of onboarding documents • Scan and upload onboarding paperwork into HRIS • Follow up with candidates to complete required documentation • Notify recruiting team of onboarding issues or delays • Serve as liaison among candidates, recruiting, payroll, and HR • Coordinate new‑hire orientations with candidates, recruiters, and trainers • Assist with internal audits and monthly compliance tracking • Provide general support to the recruiting team • Schedule Safety Council courses for employees • Send jobsite arrival emails and texts to employees • Coordinate drug screens and physicals for employees • Upload required documents to P‑Vault • Perform Assistant Recruiter duties as needed • Perform sedentary work with occasional standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, strong organizational and communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Prior experience with HRIS systems and HR administration or recruiting support is preferred, and a professional, customer‑service oriented demeanor is essential. Physical requirements include occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, regular talking, hearing, walking, sitting, and reaching, as well as occasional standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Vision must accommodate close and distance focus, and the job involves primarily sedentary work. The position demands the ability to direct others, communicate effectively with management, and comprehend written and spoken instructions.
