About the Role
This role reports to the Area Gas Operations Manager and is responsible for operating and maintaining landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS). The incumbent directs Gas Technician I and II staff as well as contractors, ensuring safe and efficient gas collection. • Operate and maintain landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal performance. • Calibrate, operate, and manage electronic data collection devices to maximize LFG extraction. • Collect, validate, and analyze wellfield data, adjusting tuning strategies for high collection efficiency. • Implement preventive maintenance and assume ownership of all assigned GCCS equipment. • Install, operate, and troubleshoot liquid management system pumps, monitoring liquid levels in collection wells. • Perform wellfield monitoring, tuning adjustments, data collection, and field maintenance. • Construct and repair PVC/HDPE piping and related components of the gas collection system. • Diagnose and troubleshoot GCCS and associated systems. • Train, mentor, and evaluate Gas Technicians I and II on operations and maintenance activities. • Supervise contractor activities and provide project‑management support for GCCS design and construction. • Contribute to the development of LFG capital and expense budgets. • Provide on‑call response for GCCS malfunctions, either onsite or by phone. • Review operating data, prepare reports, and enforce health‑and‑safety procedures.
