About the Role
The role supports local technical assistance for due‑diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial and commercial projects, including transmission and distribution substations, power distribution, renewable energy, and protection and control systems, while producing accurate documentation and adhering to industry standards. Under general supervision the engineer will collect and analyze site data, surveys, GIS, geotechnical information, and other matrices; conduct research and inspections of existing and proposed conditions; perform routine engineering functions; verify site characteristics; generate concise documentation; follow safety guidelines; complete assigned training; and act ethically according to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Provide technical assistance for due‑diligence, permitting, design, and construction of transmission and distribution projects. • Collect, compile, and analyze site surveys, GIS, geotechnical data, and other project matrices. • Conduct research and inspections of existing and proposed site conditions to ensure code compliance. • Perform routine civil engineering tasks and support safety‑focused design solutions. • Produce accurate documentation, drawings, and field logs using electronic systems. • Follow WSP safety guidelines, complete required training, and adhere to the Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
WSP is searching for a full‑time early‑career Civil Engineer (Transmission Line Design) for its Fort Worth, Texas office, joining the Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Team to help meet client objectives and solve challenges. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), have 0‑1 years of post‑graduate experience, possess strong research and analytical skills, be familiar with design/build processes, civil construction codes, and basic technical writing, and demonstrate effective communication, self‑leadership, and safety awareness. Preferred qualifications include Engineer‑in‑Training certification, experience with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and related tools, prior internships, a GPA of at least 2.75, and coursework in structural, concrete, steel, soil, foundation design and surveying. Relocation assistance is not provided; occasional travel may be required; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) with 0‑1 years experience. • Demonstrate strong research, analytical, and communication skills. • Be familiar with design/build processes, civil construction codes, and basic technical writing. • Preferred: Engineer‑in‑Training, proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and related software, prior internship, GPA ≥2.75, relevant coursework.
