Eaton
A global leader in power management, providing energy-efficient solutions for various industries.
Engineer - Flow and Thermal
Perform CFD flow and thermal analysis for electrical products, collaborating globally.
Job Highlights
About the Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform flow and thermal analysis of fuses, switchgear, UPS, circuit protection devices, transformers, and related electrical products to predict thermal performance. The individual will partner with teams in India, Europe, the US, and China, understand design intent, develop and validate analysis models, and ensure proper coordination and communication with all stakeholders using project‑management best practices. This position handles medium‑complex technologies involving conjugate heat transfer, flow estimation, and electronics cooling, requiring independent requirement handling and delivery of quality results on schedule. • Contribute to maturing flow‑thermal technical capabilities in the ES Americas portfolio. • Develop and validate digital prototypes that mimic product physics and predict critical-to-quality (CTQ) parameters. • Deploy “Analysis First” approach on low‑ and medium‑complex electrical components and assemblies. • Identify and communicate technical and schedule risks on assigned programs, and work toward mitigation. • Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to support simulation requests and manage workload. • Participate in ES Americas initiatives and deliver solid value‑add contributions. • Learn and apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) fundamentals on programs. • Embrace continuous‑improvement initiatives and increase project value delivery. • Create valuable intellectual property to expand the organization’s innovation envelope. • Apply rigorous problem‑solving logic to develop effective and innovative solutions. • Act as a learner, upskilling oneself and sharing knowledge proactively. • Foster transparency by building an open and trusting team environment.
