About the Role
The Group Technical Accounting Senior Manager (Maternity Cover – 9 months) will work full‑time on a hybrid model, based in Derby with three days per week in the office. Using advanced technical finance skills, the role supports the Group Finance function to ensure accounting issues are addressed promptly and that the Group’s financial statements are clear and compliant with IFRS. Reporting to the Group Head of Technical Accounting, who reports to the Director of Group Financial Control & Tax, this position provides confidence to the Group CFO, Audit Committee and external auditors over key accounting judgments and the overall integrity of the Group’s financial reporting. • Resolve technical accounting issues across the business, both proactively and reactively. • Provide IFRS‑compliant technical accounting advice and maintain the Group Finance Manual. • Partner with business units and external auditors to close accounting matters on schedule. • Deliver functional assurance for material investments and customer bids. • Monitor, assess, and implement new accounting standards and best‑practice guidance. • Communicate new requirements and ensure appropriate data collection for financial statements. • Prepare high‑quality audit committee papers and support IFRS‑compliant financial statements. • Offer financial expertise to cross‑functional teams for M&A activities.
