About the Role

The Production Manager employed at Veritas Steel's Palatka location is responsible for safely and efficiently overseeing multiple areas and departments across shifts. They focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking, handling complex processes with an emphasis on throughput and efficiency. As a motivator and team leader with a positive attitude, they achieve high standards through effective leadership while managing a wide range of duties and supervising staff. The role requires close collaboration with the Production Scheduler, Human Resources, and employees to align production requirements, maintain safety, quality, and cost targets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives such as housekeeping and 5S. The manager also leads recruiting, training, performance coaching, and disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance with EHS policies and effective communication throughout the department. • Manage assigned areas/departments and all associated work. • Maintain housekeeping, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Collaborate with Production Scheduler to align requirements and address gaps. • Ensure teams follow fabrication plans and improve work efficiency. • Plan work and allocate labor for efficient execution. • Execute schedule prioritizing safety, quality, timeliness, impact, and cost. • Coach and oversee performance of area leads and team members. • Recruit, select, train, and coach new department employees. • Provide direction, supervision, performance counseling, and training as needed. • Initiate disciplinary action when warranted. • Communicate and enforce company policies with Human Resources. • Resolve employee issues in partnership with Human Resources. • Maintain required documentation for all projects. • Participate actively in safety program, correcting unsafe behaviors. • Ensure departmental compliance with EHS policies and guidelines. • Coach, train, and monitor employee performance on safety programs.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds an associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field, and possesses a strong understanding of lean and Six Sigma principles, organizational effectiveness, and financial concepts. Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position. • Communicate regularly with employees and solicit problem‑solving input. • Hold an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred). • Possess strong understanding of lean and Six Sigma principles. • Knowledgeable in organizational effectiveness and operations management. • Familiar with business and financial principles. • Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. • Be well‑organized, analytical, and possess outstanding organizational abilities.
