Support rail project cybersecurity, handling risk assessments, standards, and documentation.

About the Role
The intern will work alongside the Project Cybersecurity Manager to support cybersecurity activities across projects, helping ensure secure design and compliance with company and customer standards. • Execute cybersecurity processes throughout project/product lifecycle, including planning, design, risk assessment, testing, and vulnerability management. • Maintain awareness of industry standards and propose their incorporation into cybersecurity assessments and project development. • Align work with Ground Transportation Systems Cyber Security guidelines and Hitachi Rail policies. • Coordinate specialty engineering consultation services and contribute to risk and vulnerability assessments. • Seek guidance from Project Cybersecurity Manager or Cybersecurity Authority on industry standards and group processes. • Hands‑on real‑world projects with industry talent.

What You Bring
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. • Familiarity with cybersecurity architecture, design, risk assessment, and development. • Understanding of project and software development lifecycle and process‑oriented gates. • Strong communication and technical writing skills. • Ability to work 40 hours per week on a hybrid schedule with at least two office days. • Knowledge of security standards such as ISO 27001/2, NIST SP 800 series, IEC 62443. • Cybersecurity certification is a plus. • Prior experience in product development, industrial engineering, or industrial control systems.
