About the Role
Under general supervision, the engineer will assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from work sites, surveys, GIS, geotechnical sources, and other matrices to support project development, design, and construction. Responsibilities include basic professional civil engineering tasks such as research, inspections, compliance verification, and providing entry‑level technical assistance on design and safety considerations. The role also requires generating documentation using electronic systems and field logs, adhering to safety guidelines, completing training, and exercising ethical decision‑making per WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Provide local technical assistance for infrastructure design, development, and construction. • Assist in collecting and analyzing site, survey, GIS, and geotechnical data. • Conduct basic civil engineering research, inspections, and compliance checks. • Generate accurate documentation using electronic systems and field logs. • Follow safety guidelines and complete required training. • Uphold ethical decision‑making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline and have 0 to 1 year of relevant post‑education experience. Required skills include strong research and analytical abilities, familiarity with design/build processes and civil construction codes, effective interpersonal communication, self‑leadership, attention to detail, and proficiency with technical writing and office software. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, uphold workplace safety, and accommodate flexible schedules and occasional travel is essential. Preferred qualifications include Engineer in Training certification, experience with discipline‑specific design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and related tools, prior internships in the field, and active participation in local professional organizations. This position is classified as non‑benefits eligible. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 0‑1 year relevant experience. • Demonstrate strong research, analytical, and communication skills. • Familiarity with design/build processes, civil construction codes, and record‑keeping. • Proficient in technical writing, office software, and basic engineering tools. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. • Preferred: Engineer in Training certification and experience with design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, etc.). • Preferred: Prior internship experience and active participation in professional organizations.
