About the Role
Positioned within JLL’s Mission Critical practice, the role blends deep technical expertise with commercial real‑estate acumen, leveraging JLL’s global platform that includes capital markets, leasing, property management and strategic consulting to deliver transformational data‑center campuses. • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale data center campuses (50 MW–1 GW+) as primary client liaison and technical authority. • Partner with Capital Markets to design innovative financing structures and with Leasing to optimize portfolio strategies. • Drive technical innovation in facility design, construction, and commissioning, staying ahead of AI/ML, edge computing and sustainability trends. • Coordinate integrated service delivery across site selection, design, construction management, commissioning, facilities transition and asset optimization using JLL’s technology platforms. • Act as trusted advisor to Fortune 100 technology firms, cloud providers and institutional investors, offering strategic guidance on portfolio development and risk mitigation. • Develop and enforce comprehensive risk‑management frameworks addressing technical, commercial, environmental and regulatory challenges globally. • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including JLL professionals, external consultants, contractors and client stakeholders, fostering knowledge sharing and thought leadership. • Contribute to JLL’s knowledge‑management initiatives and Mission Critical practice thought leadership.

The Project Director – Data Center Development role, based in Mumbai, reports to the Senior Director/Cluster Manager and is a full‑time senior leadership position. JLL seeks an elite professional with over 20 years of experience to lead its most complex, mission‑critical data‑center projects for leading technology companies and infrastructure investors. • Possess ≥ 20 years progressive experience in data‑center development, construction or operations with a record of delivering 10+ major projects. • Demonstrate deep expertise in mission‑critical systems such as advanced cooling, high‑density power distribution, renewable energy integration and next‑generation networking. • Understand complex commercial structures (build‑to‑suit, sale‑leaseback, joint ventures) and global data‑center market/regulatory environments. • Exhibit executive presence, strong client‑facing skills and proven ability to communicate with C‑level and board audiences while managing large, multinational teams.
