Apprentices follow structured work processes while shadowing technical advisors, communicate effectively within team settings, and develop competence with technical documentation and computer systems. As they progress, they learn to operate material-transfer conveyors, diagnose malfunctions, work with PLCs alongside automation engineers, and handle robotic systems with guidance from robotics engineers and OEMs. Upon completion, a Mechatronics Junior Technician combines electronic, mechanical, computer and control skills to analyse, troubleshoot and repair high-performance manufacturing systems, perform scheduled and preventive maintenance, interpret technical specifications, and coordinate with other technicians to ensure safe and efficient operation. Candidates must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED, pass a Mechanical Aptitude Test, and be able to travel for a 12-week training stint at one of three sites. Basic computer skills and an aptitude for troubleshooting are required; preferred experience includes a year of preventive maintenance, familiarity with mechanical/electrical components, and work with compressors or pneumatics. • Read and work with technical documentation and computer systems. • Meet minimum qualifications: 18+, high school diploma/GED, mechanical aptitude test score, basic computer proficiency. • Travel to a 12-week training site in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, or Texas. • Preferred: at least one year of preventive/predictive maintenance, experience with mechanical/electrical components, compressors, and pneumatics.
