About the Role

The role focuses on driving operational improvements within the buyer function of the Center of Excellence by collaborating with stakeholders across the organization. Responsibilities encompass overseeing material procurement processes, ensuring supplier performance, and utilizing supply chain tools to maintain efficient inventory and delivery operations. • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders across the business to improve operational buyer roles within the CoE. • Communicate and coordinate with network schedulers for planning and execution updates. • Work closely with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery of material to the plant. • Execute exception messages (postponement, anticipation, cancellation) and manage internal escalations. • Monitor internal team KPIs and develop action plans to mitigate risks and close gaps. • Resolve internal discrepancies with operations and address external supplier issues such as delivery, claims, and quality problems. • Coordinate with logistics partners and suppliers to deliver material according to incoterms. • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance (SOTD) and implement corrective/preventive actions with suppliers and category managers. • Manage supplier invoices and support resolution of holds for timely payments. • Maintain inventory levels in line with objectives, collaborating with inventory analysts and network schedulers to optimize stock. • Coordinate with Supplier Quality and suppliers for RMA of defective parts and reverse logistics. • Partner with Engineering, Product Managers, and CMs for phase‑in/out and ECN management. • Maintain purchasing data (price, unit cost, lead time, MOQ, MOV, sourcing) in collaboration with Data Health and Commodity teams. • Utilize digital SCM tools to maximize efficiency. • Resolve DC/plant putaway issues. • Purchasing excellence: drive metric improvements, standardize best practices, collaborate to update lead times and stocking levels, perform over‑buy/under‑buy analysis.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree supplemented by a master’s—preferably in materials, production, or operations management—and brings more than six years of material planning experience. Key competencies include strong supply chain and materials management expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interfacing with senior leadership and operational teams, and a proven track record in purchasing excellence such as improving metrics, standardizing practices, and managing master data or ERP health. • Understand material requirements, process requisitions, and issue purchase orders to suppliers. • Engineering graduate with a master’s degree, preferably in Materials, Production, or Operations Management. • Over 6 + years of experience in material planning. • Expertise in supply chain and materials management. • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders and senior management. • Knowledge of master data management or ERP health.
