About the Role
The Technical Director – Structural Engineering will join AECOM’s Melbourne team in a strategic leadership role, overseeing the delivery of complex multi‑disciplinary projects across various sectors. This position shapes the structural business’s direction, cultivates client relationships, and empowers a high‑performing team to achieve outstanding results. Key responsibilities include executing the sector strategy to drive profitable growth, building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships, and providing project and people leadership through recruitment, mentoring, succession planning, and a focus on wellbeing and inclusion. The role also ensures delivery excellence, governance, quality, safety, digital innovation, and client satisfaction while promoting collaboration and continuous improvement across the enterprise. • Lead execution of sector strategy to drive profitable growth across multidisciplinary projects. • Build and maintain strong client, partner, and stakeholder relationships. • Provide project and people leadership, including recruitment, mentoring, succession planning, and wellbeing initiatives. • Ensure delivery excellence, quality, safety, digital innovation, and client satisfaction. • Champion collaboration, enterprise workshare, change initiatives, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and brings over 18 years of structural engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering major multidisciplinary projects and leading large, diverse teams.
