About the Role
This role is responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and managing the performance of all drivers and helpers. It requires establishing and maintaining positive relationships with front‑line employees and spending the majority of the day in the field alongside them. The position operates in a hybrid environment, combining office duties with plant and field work, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. • Ensure new front‑line employees receive tools, instruction, and feedback for daily duties. • Conduct daily check‑ins with new employees to maintain consistent communication and support onboarding. • Provide timely and regular touchpoints with all front‑line staff. • Review best practices regularly to improve daily performance. • Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with employees to ensure success. • Practice and solicit feedback on coaching conversations. • Lead by example to uphold safety practices with each employee. • Teach and develop understanding of the WM Way. • Conduct root‑cause investigations for injuries and incidents, applying discipline and retraining as needed. • Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies such as the DOT. • Review and audit daily route operation documents (DVIRs, time‑cards, tickets) and follow up appropriately. • Visit customers and sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues, seeking service alternatives when appropriate.

What You Bring
The role may require travel by air or access to federal property, necessitating a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative. • Required qualifications: Associate's degree (or high school diploma with two years relevant experience), 18+ years of age, legal work eligibility, and a valid driver's license. • Preferred qualification: Successful completion of the WM Operations Manager Trainee program.
