About the Role
Key responsibilities include supporting contract and compliance reviews, helping develop engineering guidance and Bills of Materials, coordinating equipment specifications with procurement, and witnessing functional testing and energization of substations and PV systems. The intern will also maintain drawing sets, specifications, and document logs, update CPM schedules, track labor production, and provide accurate meeting minutes for the project team. • Review PPAs, interconnection agreements, and utility requirements to ensure project compliance. • Assist in preparing engineering guidance, material specifications, and detailed Bills of Materials. • Coordinate with procurement to specify equipment, evaluate vendor quotes, and support vendor approvals. • Participate in functional testing, substation and PV energization, and maintain safe work practices on site. • Update drawing sets, specifications, and document logs; manage RFIs and submittals within CMS. • Assist with CPM schedule upkeep, labor production tracking, and cost reporting. • Take accurate meeting minutes and support regular team communications. • Apply engineering or construction management education (or equivalent experience) to review technical designs. • Work flexible hours to support 24/7 operations and adhere to safety standards.

What You Bring
The HV Project Engineer intern will receive hands‑on experience in engineering, procurement, document control, commissioning, and field support for utility‑scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. Working directly on job sites, the intern will assist with both design and execution phases, contributing to project profitability, compliance, and schedule objectives. Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or possess equivalent experience. Required skills include the ability to read technical plans, basic estimating and scheduling knowledge (Primavera P6 a plus), strong written and verbal communication, organization, self‑motivation, and proficiency with MS Office. Familiarity with high‑voltage engineering practices and utility‑scale solar fundamentals is beneficial. The role entails physical tasks such as frequent stooping, bending, lifting 20 lb or more, climbing, and occasional exposure to dust, fumes, electrical hazards, and other environmental conditions. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment are mandatory. • Perform basic estimating and scheduling tasks, with familiarity in Primavera P6 a plus. • Communicate effectively in written and verbal English; organize and prioritize multiple tasks. • Utilize MS Office and basic drafting tools; understand HV engineering and utility‑scale solar fundamentals.
