About the Role
The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting materials to and from job sites. This role is safety-sensitive and requires adherence to state and local codes. The position supports electricians in installing and maintaining electrical and low-voltage systems. The handler assists electricians during installation and repair, may obtain certification to operate handling equipment, and can serve as an approved Bergelectric driver for material delivery. Duties include using hand and power tools, gathering and transporting tools and materials, and maintaining a clean work area. Under the foreman's direction, the handler receives, organizes, and safely delivers material, cleans and disposes of trash, and must be able to lift and pull up to 50 lb, climb ladders or scaffolding, and work in noisy, cramped, or extreme weather conditions. The role requires good vision, hearing, and the ability to distinguish color-coded wires. • Load, unload, and transport materials to and from job sites. • Assist electricians with installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. • Operate certified material-handling equipment as required. • Serve as an approved Bergelectric driver for material delivery. • Use hand and power tools to install electrical and low-voltage material safely. • Gather and deliver tools and supplies to electricians on construction projects. • Perform site cleanup and dispose of trash according to supervisor instructions. • Receive, organize, and safely distribute materials under foreman direction. • Lift and pull up to 50 lb and handle materials on scaffolding, ladders, or lifts. • Work in all weather conditions, including cold, snow, rain, and heat. • Identify and work with color-coded wires. • Maintain corrected vision and hearing standards.

Benefits
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in any weather, with exposure to high noise levels and electrical-shock hazards; a 40-hour week is standard but overtime, nights, weekends, on-call, or emergency work is expected. Salary ranges from $19.00 to $33.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k match). • Earn $19–$33 per hour with medical, dental, vision, and 401k matching benefits.
