About the Role
The Facilities Technician supports the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty by implementing safety plans, operating standards, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance to protect the property’s physical assets. • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systems. • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs using a variety of equipment. • Conduct interior and exterior upkeep such as painting, drywall, plumbing, lighting, flooring, and roofing work. • Maintain inventory records, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and tools. • Repair, modify, and relocate retail merchandising units as needed. • Assist with event setup and installation/take‑down of mall décor. • Execute custodial duties including sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, trash removal, and landscaping. • Provide snow removal by vehicle or hand when required. • Follow safety policies, OSHA standards, and emergency response procedures. • Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call emergency response. • Interact with the public and tenants to provide assistance as needed.

What You Bring
The role requires adherence to Brookfield Properties’ Safety, Health, and Environment Policy, compliance with OSHA and other regulatory guidelines, and participation in training and emergency planning. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), and exposure to varied environmental conditions; reasonable accommodations are provided as needed. • High School Diploma or GED (required). • 2–3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field. • Valid driver’s license. • Ability to read and interpret plans, schematics, and convey information clearly. • Self‑starter capable of working independently. • Tech school graduate or trade certificate (preferred). • OSHA General Industries 10‑hour certification (preferred). • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook; bilingual candidates welcomed.
