About the Role
Based in Machesney Park, Illinois, the Quality Technician will ensure product quality at third‑party enclosure vendor sites by conducting inspections during receiving, storage, pre‑production, and final stages, upholding the high standards of the Rolls‑Royce brand. Key responsibilities include witnessing genset receipt to check for transport damage, performing scheduled storage and product audits, completing visual inspections with quality checklists, documenting findings in SAP, creating Quality Notifications for non‑conformances, and confirming corrective actions from 8D investigations. The technician also supports continuous‑improvement data, coordinates ship‑short parts, carries out minor rework using hand tools, and provides accurate, timely quality data to management while promoting a culture of compliance. • Inspect received gensets for transport damage and quality issues at enclosure vendor sites. • Perform periodic storage audits to detect packaging damage and preservation concerns. • Conduct pre‑production and final product audits using quality checklists and SAP documentation. • Create and manage Quality Notifications in SAP, assigning corrective actions to relevant departments. • Support 8D investigations and continuous improvement projects with accurate data. • Coordinate receipt, storage, and utilization of ship‑short loose parts. • Execute minor rework and repairs on non‑conforming gensets using hand tools and work instructions. • Provide timely quality data and updates to management. • Ensure compliance with Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct and promote a compliance culture.

What You Bring
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Candidates need either a two‑year mechanical, engine, or automotive associate degree plus two years of quality inspection experience in durable‑goods manufacturing, or five years of comparable inspection experience. Preferred qualifications include proficiency with hand tools and torque wrenches, ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, strong knowledge of large‑equipment parts and gauge/testing equipment, effective communication at all organizational levels, solid written and verbal skills, and competency with PC and Microsoft Office Suite. • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Minimum 2 years of mechanical/engine/automotive associate degree plus 2 years inspection experience, or 5 years inspection experience. • Proficient with hand tools, torque wrenches, and reading mechanical/electrical drawings. • Strong knowledge of manufacturing parts, equipment, and gauge/test tools. • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all organizational levels. • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
