About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. They deliver loads to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once legal capacity is reached, and must navigate high‑traffic roadways, alleys, driveways, and tight industrial sites while performing skilled backing maneuvers. Key responsibilities include operating the vehicle in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, conducting pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents promptly. Drivers attend required trainings, work with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency, communicate customer requests, ensure each receptacle is emptied cleanly, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Operate vehicles safely according to WM, OSHA, DOT, and legal requirements. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, or service interruptions immediately. • Attend all scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Communicate customer requests and service issues to dispatch or management. • Dump all receptacles cleanly and leave the site free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and check out properly. • Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.

What You Bring

Applicants must have at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑requiring vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years, be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid Class A or Class B commercial driver’s license with an air‑brake endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and candidates must be legally eligible to work in the country of employment. The role demands regular standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, reflecting the physically active nature of waste‑collection work. • Hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement. • Provide at least one year of relevant driving experience or recent military driving. • Be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the country of employment. • Possess a high school diploma or GED (preferred).
