About the Role

The Transmission Line Engineer provides design, engineering, technical support, and oversight to a transmission engineering team to deliver safe, cost-effective, high-quality services. The incumbent leads discipline work on projects, performs charge‑engineer duties, manages schedules and budgets, and supports proposal development and cost estimating, including renewable energy interconnections and grid modernization. • Provide engineering and technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems. • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities. • Produce thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, calculations, and sketches. • Understand and create transmission line drawing packages. • Support company goals and represent the organization professionally. • Interact daily with customers’ internal engineers and technical personnel. • Develop and maintain professional customer relationships. • Monitor deliverables and schedules, presenting solutions to clients. • Deliver complete design packages including drawings, bills of material, specifications, and cost estimates on time and within budget. • Mentor junior staff and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams.

What You Bring

Successful candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and possess 5–7 years of experience in electrical power delivery, particularly transmission line design at 69 kV or higher. A Professional Engineering license is preferred. Required skills include strong technical writing, oral communication, and the ability to create and interpret transmission line drawing packages, as well as proficiency with standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, and IEEE. The position involves regular sitting, occasional standing and walking, and frequent use of hands for tools. Physical demands include handling up to 25 lb loads and exposure to moderate noise, outdoor weather, and occasional electrical shock risk. Reasonable accommodations are provided for employees with disabilities. • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program. • Possess 5–7 years of electrical utility transmission line design experience (≥69 kV). • Preferably hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license. • Be proficient with NESC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE standards and design software (PLSCADD, PLSPOLE, MFAD). • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication abilities.
