About the Role
The operator runs assigned equipment for metal finishing operations, handling the loading, unloading, stacking, and processing of parts through various chemical and heat treatments. Daily duties include preparing containers with parts, lowering them into processing tanks, monitoring solution temperatures, maintaining clean work areas, logging production data, and inspecting finished parts for quality. Additional responsibilities may involve general utility work, material handling, assisting with chemical handling and solution maintenance, record keeping, and troubleshooting moderate issues to ensure product quality. • Load and unload tote pans, stacking parts in baskets, racks, or barrels for processing. • Operate electric hoists and perform manual lifting as required. • Follow prescribed procedures for cleaning, etching, de‑muting, pickling, bright‑dipping, dyeing, degreasing, heat treating, plating, coating, wet processes, and drying. • Fill containers with parts and lower them into the appropriate processing tanks. • Remove parts after processing and maintain tank and work area cleanliness. • Monitor solution temperatures and maintain daily production logs. • Conduct physical inspections of processed parts to ensure quality. • Perform general utility work, material handling, chemical assistance, and solution maintenance. • Ensure overall product quality and adhere to safety and record‑keeping standards.
