Inspect, test, maintain fire alarm and suppression systems for commercial sites

About the Role
• Inspect, test, and maintain fire suppression systems (fire alarm, fire extinguisher). • Execute full inspection scope. • Communicate with customers on-site, checking in/out and addressing questions. • Upload accurate inspection reports to CLSS within 24 hours. • Upload photos to CLSS for failed inspections or service needs. • Send weekly closeout email summarizing weekly inspections and urgent items. • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and closeout documents. • Provide information and support to inside sales as needed. • Complete timesheets, work orders, expense reports, and other paperwork accurately and timely. • Demonstrate leadership and train team members. • Assist sales during estimating, including system demonstrations. • Lift and carry ladders, drawings, computers, material, etc. • Stand and walk on construction sites for extended periods. • Climb multiple flights of stairs or ladders daily. • Kneel, stoop, and crawl as needed.

What You Bring
The organization defines three career levels for this position. Level I performs assigned tasks with supervision and holds a basic industry certification. Level II consistently meets all objectives, mentors Level I staff, works on multiple special‑system deliverables, and possesses a mid‑level certification. The Senior level brings extensive experience, deep system knowledge, high‑level certification, industry involvement, and provides mentorship and supervision as needed. • High school diploma or GED. • 5+ years fire alarm installation, testing, inspection, and service. • Knowledge of NFPA 72 and related fire and life safety codes. • Advanced blueprint reading skills. • 5+ years system startup and programming experience. • 5+ years panel installation and wiring experience. • NICET or similar fire/life safety certification. • Proficiency with electronic test equipment (volt meters, amp meters, etc.). • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical/electronic circuits. • Familiarity with computer operating systems and MS Office Suite. • Clear verbal and written communication. • Empathetic problem‑solving and customer service skills. • Pass background check per customer requirements. • Willingness to travel statewide, including overnight stays. • Availability for night and weekend work as required. • Ability to obtain government clearances. • 7+ years testing/inspecting fire alarm and sprinkler systems, including kitchen hoods, backflows, clean agent, pre‑action, fire pumps, and hydrants. • NICET Level III or higher certification. • Advanced understanding of NFPA 72 and related codes. • Experience with Building Reports software. • Experience with Notifier fire alarm panels. • Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation. • Lift up to 50 lb+. • Maintain satisfactory driving record for company vehicle use. • Work outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and in variable weather; exposure to live voltage, moving parts, heavy machinery, wet/humid conditions, elevated locations, airborne particles, fumes, electrical hazards, vibrations, occasional toxic chemicals, extreme temperatures, and loud noise. • Possess accurate color vision and clear visual acuity.
