About the Role
• Manage overall financial health of projects, including subcontracts and suppliers • Develop and maintain project financial projections and allocate estimates in the financial system • Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment • Create monthly owner billings and handle contract management, including contract buyouts • Oversee budget and select trade partners and suppliers • Lead and manage Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assign jobs, and facilitate career development • Approve timecards for on‑site team members and provide performance feedback • Serve as primary contact with owners and on‑site representatives, review agreements, and resolve site concerns • Execute and manage change orders, submit them for approval, and obtain customer/architect sign‑off • Maintain schedule and budget through project completion, overseeing quality, risk, safety, compliance, and stakeholder relationships • Interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively • Apply active listening and effective communication, welcoming diverse input and feedback

What You Bring
Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Manager I or II to join its Solar group. The role will lead project quality, timeliness, and safety while mentoring the team and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service. Candidates must be open to any location in the continental United States and be prepared for 100% travel, moving from one project to the next as assignments are completed. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management (or equivalent experience) and six years of construction management experience for level I (seven years for level II). Candidates should have self‑perform experience, a current driver’s license, and preferably utility‑scale solar experience, along with strong detail orientation, basic construction law knowledge, and intermediate Microsoft Office and project‑management software skills. As a top builder, developer, and EPC firm, Mortenson works across markets such as sports, renewable energy, data centers, and healthcare, and is committed to equal employment opportunities. Benefits
The position is offered at two levels, with base pay ranging from $113,500 to $170,300 for Project Manager I and $132,100 to $198,200 for Project Manager II, adjusted for location and experience. Compensation is determined by knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, and the role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
