About the Role

• Oversee HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in a data‑center environment. • Implement and maintain critical environment protocols and Method of Procedure (MOP) processes. • Conduct performance analyses and develop preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical and electrical systems. • Design and optimize cooling solutions and airflow management for high‑density server environments. • Lead root cause analysis of system failures and implement corrective actions and upgrades. • Propose and execute energy‑saving initiatives to reduce Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and integrate green technologies. • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, ISO, and local regulations; conduct regular safety audits. • Mentor facility technicians and engineers, and manage infrastructure projects, expansions, and upgrades. • Collaborate with equipment vendors and service providers to optimize system performance. • Communicate infrastructure status and improvement plans effectively to executive management.

What You Bring

The Night Shift Data Center Mechanical Engineer (SME) role requires extensive mechanical engineering experience and over five years of data‑center operations expertise. You will manage and optimize critical systems in a high‑performance data‑center environment, overseeing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems while implementing environment protocols and Method of Procedure (MOP) processes. Physical work requirements include lifting up to 80 lb, frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights up to 30 ft. You must be able to work in extreme temperatures, drive for long periods, and be available for call‑in work as needed. Required qualifications are four or more years of technical experience in building engineering with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair, as well as experience in data‑center or raised‑floor environments. Candidates must hold a universal EPA 608 certification, have CRAC (Liebert) maintenance experience, and possess at least two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship. Preferred qualifications include expertise in a specific craft area such as electrical, HVAC, or piping, familiarity with building automation systems, and fire/life safety knowledge. This is a night‑shift position and does not provide visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. • Required: 4+ years building engineering experience (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), data‑center background, EPA 608 certification, CRAC maintenance, and trades apprenticeship. • Preferred: expertise in a specific craft area, familiarity with building automation and fire/life safety systems. • Physical demands include lifting up to 80 lb, climbing ladders up to 30 ft, working in extreme temperatures, and on‑call availability. • Night‑shift position; no visa sponsorship; must be authorized to work in the United States.
