About the Role
The Maintenance Technician B works under the supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment, trucks, and associated components such as chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also includes basic tire work like replacement, rotation, and tread checks, and offers the chance to work on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles while supporting drivers on their routes. Key duties include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on chassis components, refuse bodies, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, heating and cooling systems, and executing line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. Technicians provide safe road service when needed, diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools, complete required company training, and handle any additional job‑related tasks assigned. • Perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel trucks, covering chassis, hydraulic, electrical, engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. • Conduct basic tire services such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth inspections. • Provide on‑road service to return equipment to safe operation. • Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify equipment malfunctions. • Execute line‑maintenance welding and fabrication tasks. • Complete required company training and any additional assigned duties.

What You Bring
Candidates should have at least one year of experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or be graduating from an accredited automotive college within three months. A basic understanding of work‑order labor time standards, familiarity with Class 1‑5 and Class 7‑8 truck systems, and a valid driver’s license are required; ASE certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous. • Minimum 1 year of experience with gasoline and diesel equipment or recent automotive technical school graduate. • Understand work‑order labor time standards and possess a valid driver’s license; ASE certifications and a CDL are a plus.
