About the Role

KBR is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to lead the planning, organization, and continuous improvement of its business development and strategic development processes. The role is responsible for creating and implementing tactical plans that support both short‑term and long‑term strategic objectives of the organization. The Director will conduct market research, financial feasibility studies, and competitive analyses to uncover new business opportunities. They will work closely with technical teams to translate market insights into profitable revenue streams, serve as a liaison across business units, and develop strong customer and industry relationships. In addition, they will craft win strategies, manage the full business development life‑cycle, produce marketing collateral and RFI responses, and identify potential acquisition targets while actively participating in key industry associations. • Conduct market research and financial feasibility studies to identify new business opportunities. • Collaborate with technical teams to convert insights into profitable revenue streams and act as liaison across business units. • Develop and sustain strong customer and industry relationships to align capabilities with client objectives. • Perform competitive analysis and devise win strategies for assigned pursuits. • Manage the full business development lifecycle, including proposals, marketing collateral, and RFI responses. • Identify potential acquisition targets and actively engage in key industry associations. • Lead teams with 20+ years of management experience and 10+ years of senior military or DoD service.

What You Bring

The position is remote with a requirement to travel up to 25 % of the time and follows standard working hours. The role reports directly to senior leadership and operates within KBR’s collaborative, zero‑harm culture. Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in a STEM field and possess at least 20 years of management and leadership experience. A minimum of ten years of senior service in the U.S. Army, Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Marine Corps, USSOCOM, COCOM, or Joint Staff, combined with ten years of experience in Department of War (DoW) operations or RDT&E programs, is required. In‑depth knowledge of DoW acquisition processes, experience briefing senior leadership, and a current Secret security clearance are also mandatory. A Master’s degree and prior director‑level experience in either DoW or commercial settings are highly desirable. Experience guiding business development from customer gap analysis through solution architecture, proposal development, negotiation, and contract sign‑off is preferred, as is a Top Secret clearance. • Hold an undergraduate STEM degree; Master’s degree preferred; current Secret clearance (Top Secret desirable).

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $226,800 to $340,100, with additional compensation options that may include bonuses, commissions, sign‑on payments, relocation assistance, and short‑ or long‑term incentive plans.
