About the Role

The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring full compliance with customer, contractual, commercial and regulatory requirements. They will define scope, produce time and cost estimates, develop detailed plans using Microsoft Project and coordinate resources to meet milestones. In addition, they will act as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders, promote best practices in health & safety, environmental compliance and quality, and represent the business on site visits. • Lead NEC3‑contracted projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, commercial and regulatory requirements. • Develop and maintain detailed project charters, scopes, KPIs and robust time‑ and cost‑estimates. • Produce project plans, risk registers and schedules using Microsoft Project Gantt charts. • Coordinate resources, activities and timelines to meet milestones and deliverables. • Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, delivering clear, customer‑focused communication. • Identify and implement process improvements, promoting health & safety, environmental and quality best practices. • Travel to customer sites as needed, upholding company culture and values. • Negotiate, influence and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.

What You Bring

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who excels at collaboration, stakeholder communication and delivering high‑quality outcomes that satisfy contractual, legislative and business objectives. The role serves as the central coordination hub for multiple NEC3‑based projects, overseeing planning, risk management and commercial reporting. If you enjoy leading from the front, solving problems and driving continuous improvement, this role offers a real impact. Applicants should have project management or engineering experience, strong electrical or mechanical design capability and a solid understanding of health and safety. Required qualifications include an HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, commercial awareness, hands‑on experience in change, budget and procurement management, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project. Desirable attributes are a background in the UK municipal water sector, familiarity with NEC3 contracts, PRINCE2/APM certification and experience with digital project portfolio tools. • Hold HNC (or equivalent) in engineering/science and strong electrical/mechanical design knowledge. • Demonstrate commercial awareness, change, budget and procurement management experience. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project; excellent written communication. • Desirable: experience in UK municipal water sector, NEC3 familiarity, PRINCE2/APM certification, digital project portfolio tools.
